Same time last year. 5 am Fall-ins. 10pm Lights-out Thrill. Fear. Climbing. Falling. Pushing. Accepting. Bonds and friendships. Pulling legs. Having backs. Tears. Laughter. Breakthroughs. Breakdowns. Falling dead. Coming alive.
Some of the most memorable and challenging 28 days of my life.
This was an absolutely EPIC chapter, a one of a kind roller-coaster which took me through it all- the Mountaineering Course at NIM, 2019.
It almost seems like a far-removed world, a kind of alternate reality. Never did I think things will change so drastically then. Was it me who did all that? It is strange how it feels just like yesterday and I am amazed at how quickly an entire year of 365 days went by. Yet, it seems so distant and unreachable especially given the current ‘unprecedented times’ (Yes, I empathise with you. I am as tired of this phrase and time as you are)
This makes me value and want to document those days even more. It is impossible to write about it all in a single post so I decided to share an element of it every day for the next 28 days, through photos and stories of my experience as it was- raw and beautiful.
This photo was taken when I arrived at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering after a long wait and an arduous journey; the gates were finally opened and we were let IN! I felt like something different was unfolding and couldn’t wait for more to be unraveled. This was the first day, the beginning of an exciting and exhilarating journey!
Looking forward to the rest ;)
